Documenting Blue Thunder Marching band's 2025 Season

From August's preseason camps through December's bowl game festivities, I had the privilege of photographing Boise State's Blue Thunder Marching Band throughout their fall 2025 season. Between my time as a Blue Thunder alum and on staff, this was actually my 13th season with the band, but my first season since 2020 and my first bowl game with the band since the 2019 Las Vegas Bowl.

Returning to the band after five years away felt like rediscovering a part of myself. This program taught me discipline, artistry, and what it means to be part of something larger than yourself—lessons that shaped not just my years in Blue Thunder, but the photographer I've become. Documenting this season allowed me to give back to the community that gave me so much, capturing the same pride, passion, and precision that once defined my own time on the field. The images you see here represent just a handful of the thousands I took throughout the season—each one a tribute to the band members who poured their hearts into every performance, and to a program that will always feel like home.
